Measurement of reactor antineutrino flux and spectrum at RENO

چکیده
The RENO experiment reports measured flux and energy spectrum of reactor electron antineutrinos ?¯e from the six reactors at Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant. measurements use 966 094 116 111?¯e candidate events with a background fraction 2.39% (5.13%), acquired in near (far) detector, August 2011 to March 2020. inverse beta decay (IBD) yield is as (5.852±0.094)×10?43 cm2/fission, corresponding 0.941±0.015 prediction by Huber Mueller (HM) model. A obtained unfolding IBD prompt spectrum. neutrino shows clear excess around 6 MeV relative HM prediction. will be useful for understanding unknown properties models. observed discrepancies suggest next round precision modification current models.Received 29 October 2020Revised 21 January 2021Accepted 2 November 2021DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.104.L111301Published American Physical Society under terms Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license. Measurement of the Reactor Antineutrino Flux and Spectrum at Daya Bay.
This Letter reports a measurement of the flux and energy spectrum of electron antineutrinos from six 2.9 GWth nuclear reactors with six detectors deployed in two near (effective baselines 512 and 561 m) and one far (1579 m) underground experimental halls in the Daya Bay experiment. Using 217 days of data, 296 721 and 41 589 inverse β decay (IBD) candidates were detected in the near and far hall...
متن کاملImproved Measurement of the Reactor Antineutrino Flux and Spectrum at Daya Bay
A new measurement of the reactor antineutrino flux and energy spectrum by the Daya Bay reactor neutrino experiment is reported. The antineutrinos were generated by six 2.9 GWth nuclear reactors and detected by eight antineutrino detectors deployed in two near (560 m and 600 m flux-weighted baselines) and one far (1640 m flux-weighted baseline) underground experimental halls. With 621 days of da...
متن کاملReactor Antineutrino Signals at Morton and Boulby
Increasing the distance from which an antineutrino detector is capable of monitoring the operation of a registered reactor, or discovering a clandestine reactor, strengthens the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons Treaty. This report presents calculations of the reactor antineutrino interactions, from both quasi-elastic neutrino-proton scattering and elastic neutrino-electron scattering, in a ...
متن کاملTerrestrial Antineutrino Flux Measurements
Electron antineutrinos accompanying the β-decays of long-lived isotopes of uranium, thorium, and potassium in the earth carry information about the quantity and distribution of these geologically important, heat-producing isotopes. This letter discusses terrestrial antineutrino flux measurements at both a continental and an oceanic site. A combined analysis of both measurements provides informa...
متن کاملReactor monitoring and safeguards using antineutrino detectors
Nuclear reactors have served as the antineutrino source for many fundamental physics experiments. The techniques developed by these experiments make it possible to use these very weakly interacting particles for a practical purpose. The large flux of antineutrinos that leaves a reactor carries information about two quantities of interest for safeguards: the reactor power and fissile inventory. ...
